I have had no problems with this app. The typing sound effects really help put me in the zone. I love that you can leave comments along the way and have a draft board on the side for brainstorming. My favorite writing app so far.
I was really surprised. This app works great and possibly even better than Microsoft Works. I was able to complete many different things quickly and easily, and then was able to hear it read back to me; which is very helpful because it is hard to see mistakes when I read it myself. I’m definitely going to keep using this app.
Found this really useful for creative writing, it has all the fonts, alignments, color options, text styles and sizes, and more neat features besides that you could need. I imagine that it would also be useful for writing assignments, or really whatever you could need it for. The only grudge I have against it is that it produces this clacking and zipping noise as you type and press “Enter” for a new line, which has it’s charm because it resembles a typewriter, but when you’re writing chapters, and you have music on to keep your mind in the scenario, the endless “CLACKCLACKCLACKCLACKCLACKCLACKZZIIIPPPCLACKCLACKCLACKCLACKCLACKZIIIIPPPCLACK” starts to become kind of torturous, because the noise is connected to your speakers in the same way your music is, and you can’t quiet it, or turn it off unless you mute the sound on your computer. At least, I haven’t found a way to turn it off yet. If you were already thinking about downloading the app, don’t let that discourage you, just, be warned. …And have your speakers turned down a bit.

Nice for typing out notes and has all features for basic needs
This is a great app! I’ve had no problems with this app so far and I’ve had it for about a month now. I think it’s user friendly and has good features!
I do not like that it has a red highlighted text in the top part of the document. WHy would I want that there? I cannot submit anything professional with that on it. Do I have to purchase the software n order to get rid of it?

I can never find great apps for writing but this one is by far my favorite one. I recommend it highly for any one who wishes to write.
Red heading at the top of each page is distracting and ugly. Does not allow for footnotes. Lousy at handling files converted from .doc or .docx - completely messes with the formating.
I know that so far I do love this app. I really like the typewriter sound as I have been wanting to find a application that does that in a document type app. And for some reason I just really like hearing that particular noise as it makes me really feel like a real writer. In that general sense. So so far I am giving this app 5 stars as I love it so much.
The Go Writer app is easy to use and basic but I can still make color, font & size changes. I like the click, click & return sound of an old typewriter but if you don’t like that noise, you can turn off the sound. I’m a grandmother who uses Go Writer for writing recipes, address labels, letters and notes.
Overall a great app. The only issue as, I am sure others have pointed out, is the sound effect that gets old very quickly. You can turn it off under the Edit bar, but if you are typing for a while, it seems to randomly turn itself back on… An easy enough fix though, as you turn it off again and maybe another hour or two into writing, you will need to do it again. Sometimes a small distraction from your writing can be a good thing :-)

I was doing some transcribing; the typewriter sound effects were getting in the way, very distracting in my case. There’s a glitch, the sound effects somethimes cut off momentarily—I was happy about that. There should be an option to enable/disable this feature. This discouraged me from buying the pro-version. Basic, simple, and easy to use, practical, not perfect. (update) There is an option to turn off typewriter sound under edit menu, this only works per document, once you close and reopen document you find out that sound is back ON by default. It would be better if sound effect stayed off/disabled until I decide to enable it.

BEST GO-TO for a reason
So, I've been using Go Writer Lite for a long while now, and it's STILL my Go-To writing app of choice. Go Writer Lite has finally restored both the Arial & Courier Fonts again. Don't know when they did that, but I sure am glad for it. I much prefer both Arial & Courier to Helvetica. New Times Roman reads tiny & tight despite being set same size as any other. Why? I ain't figured it out. Helvetica's ok, but also tight. Arial makes for excellent read & write; superior to Helvetica. But when it comes to the Courier font; it's the absolute best; especially for those who require both writing & reading support. Courier adds the slightest of extra spacing between letters & words; which makes all the difference for those who suffer any form of ADHD or are on the higher functioning end of the Autism spectrum. Just makes it a whole lot easier all around. So thank you, Go Writer Lite Support Team, for restoring what should've never been lost in the first place. Very much appreciated. Thank you. Thank you for providing us a CLEAN SPACE by which to easily write & procure our thoughts, etc.. But for also offering us what we'd otherwise miss out on otherwise. One thing tho, please ... Would you please put a 'LOCK' to the typewriter sound output. Cuz for whatever reason, just turning it off, is not a solid off-set till want it on. 'Check-Switch' seems to have a mind of its own. Sometimes it's a nice sound; but mostly, it's a whole lot of painful to me. Some folks might have to have that sound output; but there's a whole lot of us that actually require a SILENT typing experience cuz of what it does to our heads - even to our brains & the rest of our bodies. Most folks might think that nuts. But for some of us, sound outputs prove to be excruciatingly painful, depending on the sound. An actual 'on/off slide switch' would prove much more beneficial to the issue than the simple 'check box' that is not guaranteed to hold. And trust me, there are times when it just does not hold. Why, I don't know. Especially since it's something you have to go to directly to deal with time and again when it refuses to stay how you personally set it. I can say that. Irrespective of that particual caviat, I still LOVE LOVE LOVE my Go Writer Lite. Thank you.

Great App!
Was having a hard time finding an application that was compatible with my system for writing and this was the only one that allowed me to do what I wanted, super easy to maneuver and for those with older systems for their apple pc such as 10.0… this is the app for you if you wanna start writing your own stories.

All I need is a writting tool for my novel and this app is what I need. Instead of spending tons of money for a writting program like Word which I barely use 2/3 of its function, I very recommend this app if anyone just need a simple writting tool. Ps: I love the typing keuboard sound effect.

I’ve been searching the app store for a compatible word processor for my macbook; this is the one I found. It makes a cool mechanical sound when typing.
Fulfills my expectations
This is a great little word processor if you don’t care for all the bells and whistles, and especially if you can’t be bothered with the ridiculous price tag of Microsoft Word (like me). Until I found GWL I was doing all my writing on either Notes or TextEdit. I’m also probably in the minority in that I actually like the “typewriter” sound effects.

Wonderful Program
Go Writer Lite is very efficient for my work, if I just want type up a recipe so that I can read it more easily than I would be able to if I wrote it by hand. Its definitely recommended by me! -NialeliKropf

The clicking sound is calming
I like to turn to Go Writer Lite when I need to do brain-dump kinds of writing. Its no-frills interface and clicking keyboard help to keep me from worrying about being perfect.
Go Writer Lite
I love this app. It sounds like an authentic typewriter and the layout is very similar to Microsoft Word and very easy to navigate. This is the best free app of its kind that is very well thought out. I may very well consider upgrading to the pro version.
I LOVE This APP
So, i've been writing for a long time, always had a bunch of stories in my head, but never ever follow through in finishing them. I recentely read the War of Art and and realized I am the embodiment of what the author calls "Resistence." So as of late, i decided enough is enough, these ideas I have in my head, I'm going to to procrastinating, sit down and write them. And Go Writer Lite is the perfect app to help me push through those brick walls every writer hits. Especially when i crank the volume and hear the sound effects that make it seems like I'm using an actual type writer, for whatever reason, i'll get addicted to the clicking sound and start typing frantically and get so much more done than usual. It's a great program that constantly reminds me that this is just the rough draft, not ever sentence needs to be perfect, just FINISH the story!!!!!! And come back and worry about the little details like editing, gammer and overall flow/poetic expression LATER. That's my favorite feature and besides that, everything else just works great. The font tabs and such, I love it all. Never been so enthusiastic and productive with any other writing program, it just fits my personality like a glove. Well Done

This app is very helpful because it's very simple to use the fonts are easy to get to. Just everything is just nice and simple I've had writing apps where I click on it by opening it up and I have no idea what to do and they have all these complicated buttons and as a young writer that was very difficult so this app has been an extreme help for my writing
